Ok folks, see my previous thread for more details. (including original problem and system specs)

Basically, an old computer with no SATA controller and an AMD processor managed to install Mac Os X86 FLAWLESSLY, yet it doesnt have the horsepower that I need to run it at a decent rate. I know it's on incompatible hardware, but it takes forever, and the old computer isnt my main PC anyway.

My trouble is, I think, SATA. My current connections are Primary Master = Spare WD 80GB IDE Hard Drive, Primary Slave = DVD Drive with JaS 10.4.8 AMD/INTEL SSE2/SSE3 released which is fully patched, and HAS WORKED, so its not the release thats the problem. The Darwin part of the INSTALLATION gets caught on when it finds the SATA controller of the VIA 8237 (listed as IRQ20 - VIA 8237 SATA . It first finds it on IRQ20, and then throws out a "Still waiting for root device", and then it takes about a minute, finds it as VIA 8237 (no SATA this time), on IRQ15. It then throws up continuous "Still waiting for root device", for about an hour, and then keeps going and going and going.

I have disbaled the VIA SATA Bootrom in the BIOS, yet it still detects the controller!?. Is there something else I need to disable? It's annoying because I've read other success stories with this motherboard and chip. I've never got into the installation GUI on this machine. I REPEAT, NO SATA DR

VES ARE POWERED OR CABLED OR ATTATCHED.

If ANYONE can help, I would be most thankful. I really want to experience the beauty of Mac Os X on this PC :(.

Thanks in advance.
