Slavens
I've spent the last two days searching the forum and have found lots of similar issues, but nothing that seems to help with my problem. I burned the Jas 10.4.8 to a DVD-R and everything (i need) installs fine except the INTEL specific package. If I try to install it, it errors out at the end and tells me to reinstall. Is this problem connected to, or the cause of my Mac install not booting? I can successfully install Mac OS if I leave out the Jas optimizations, but when it boots, it fails with the following error: "could not load /usr/standalone/i386/boot" note that it does NOT say boot0 The partition scheme is: partition 1: hidden laptop recovery partition partition 2: Windows XP Pro partition 3: Mac OS I've tried setting both partitions 2 and 3 as active through fdisk, and booting directly from part 3 gives the error, as does trying to chain0 from XP's boot.ini. I booted from the install DVD and went to /Volumes/MAC2/usr/standalone/i386 and the folder is empty. What is suppposed to be in here? I suspect that if I get the right files in here that it will boot. Slavens
I booted from the dvd and copied files from the /usr/standalone/i386 folder into /Volumes/MAC2/usr/standalone/i386 and now I get a kernel panic when I boot Mac OS. I suppose that this is progress, but I assume that one of the files needs to be edited. Does anyone know which one?
