macgirl
It is not the kernel per se that enables the card, the Nvidia drivers that work came when the Mac Pro was relesead, but when the Mac Pro was released the version of the kernel was more recent than 8.4.1 so the new drivers don't work with and old kernel because they were compiled with/for 8.8.1 For updating the kernel (which is not the only file you need to update) check the Tutorials Forums, there are various guides for it. Also for Natit or Titan check the Natit forum.
