palos98
JaS 10.4.8 installed flawlessly on my Toshiba laptop for me and I've got my Atheros AR5001X wireless up and running. My problem is that it doesn't recall my wireless configuration after a reboot. I get the greyed-out AirPort icon in the status bar and if I click on it and enter my info, all is well. If I go to System Preferences/Network and enter the info it always loses my WEP info on reboot although the network name is still there. Is there any way to make it remember these settings? Maybe hard-code it into some config file? Or is this the way it works on the Mac? Any help is appreciated. palos98
have you played with the network preference pane in system preferences or used internet connect yet? those are two places to input your prefferred networks and preferences. I gone through both and rebooted a number of times but no joy. It's only a small inconvenience to have to point it to my network and give it the WEP key each time but everything else about this install has been so flawless that this has become a pebble in my shoe. When I reboot, the AirPort icon in the status bar is greyed out. When I go to [system Preferences/Network] it knows about my local network but always reverts back to [None] in the Security drop-down even though I selected WEP and entered my key. I click [Apply] and even lock it. But after reboot I'm back to a greyed-out icon.
