Hi all..

i have a little big problem..

i can't mount samba shares....

i tried with finder by browsing the network.. and it didn't work "alias error" after autentication

then i tried with the smb//host/share name syntax in "connect to server" option... and it returns me a general error like:

"an error has accoured".... very explicative..

then i tried to run a dmesg from terminal and here is what i found:

netsmb_dev: loaded
mount version mismatch: kernel=103600, mount=103500
mount version mismatch: kernel=103600, mount=103500
mount version mismatch: kernel=103600, mount=103500
mount version mismatch: kernel=103600, mount=103500
mount version mismatch: kernel=103600, mount=103500
mount version mismatch: kernel=103600, mount=103500
mount version mismatch: kernel=103600, mount=103500
mount version mismatch: kernel=103600, mount=103500

any suggestion?

can it be related in any kind with the mounting samba shares problem?

i'm running a JaS 10.4.8

Problem fixed...

now i can mount samba/CIFS shares...

here's how i solve for those who may experience the same problem:

it was a mismatch of the mount_smbfs binary...

it was caused by the alias patch wich was made for an older kernel version... and it caused a version mismatch between the binary and the kernel

so i opened the dvd i used for the os installation with pacifist and reinstalled the mount_smbfs binary..

it worked on the fly and i was able to mount shares without any problem.
