lnxmad
Hello, I'm new here and this place seems to have a friendly community. I finnaly installed OS 10.4.8(smoothly), but am still trying to figure some things out. I have worked out all the little kinks, but I am stuck with somewhat of a big issue. It seems everytime I am dealing with a big file(writing) my permissions seem to lock up. I Have no idea how or why. It goes to the point where I am unable to even put somthing in the trash. I first noticed it while using Parellels. It installed the guest os ok, but then was unable to read/write to the image. Also when in iTunes, an error comes up saying: The iTunes Library cannot be saved. An unkown error occurred(-50). I know this has to do with permissions, I just dont know how or why this is happening...but it SUCKs. A restart will fix it(temporarally) until I start dealing with big files or creating big files. It even happend after I ran an XBench test. It is a very unusual bug/error. EDIT: I have done the Disk Utility Repair and both tests came back with no errors. Yet I still cannot delete or write to ANYTHING Edited February 26, 2007 by lnxmad Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/43604-finnally-here/ Share on other sites

macbrush
Have you actually looked at the permissions on the files that you couldn't save in terminal? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/43604-finnally-here/#findComment-312379 Share on other sites
