sandraandjay
So I went through the downloading the jas DVD, got it on a DVD and booted from it....all OK. Got to the setup (already made a suitable partition and set active). Run through setup and selected the appropriate patches in the custom bit. Got all the way through the setup and right to the end. But (*sob*) it does not restart!? I left it for 30 minutes and still nothing. All there is, is a small icon going round (like a numberless clock). So after the 30 minutes i gave up and hit the power button. I tried to boot into osx but I get LOTS of writing coming up with things like kernal panic (at least it think thats right). Any help would be appreciated. :-) Base spec for pc. 2xsata (1 @300 + 1 @160) p4 519 @3.06ghz. 1.5gbram sunshine ddr2 mobo. nvidia 6200 grapics 2x optiarc DVDDL drives. Additional info for pc is here: http://support.packardbell.com/uk/item/ind...5401&g=1400 EDIT** Ok - So i managed to painfully sort out my problems! :-) I got rid of b0 error, hfs partition error, system disk error and any other error the computer tried throwing at me. Got osx and xp to "play nice". But then...... i get to the registration screen and NO keyboard *sob, sob, sob* and sob some more. usb mouse and ps2 keyboard = problem, solution = ps2 mouse + ps2 keyboard :-) OK. I got through registration. Now: My CPU is going MAD always at user 45% system 55% or thereabouts. Please help! I am very much a newby to all this and have no mac knowledge. I have looked at the system monitor to try and see what is causing the problem but it "appears" that all processes are running at low CPU usage. But something is causing major CPU usage i just dont know what. I did read that a kext called AppleTPMACPI.kext caused problems but this is not in the System/Library/Extensions. once again help. Any help is appreciated. Edited February 25, 2007 by sandraandjay Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/43514-osx86-reboot-problem/ Share on other sites

sandraandjay
Managed to work out the HD Audio stuff :-) Look around this site for your answer - search for linux Realtek - that should get you your answer (I cant remember the exact page) I am now running Linux Suse 10.2 + OSX 10.4.6 + XP. I used Acronis OS Selector for boot manager, it solves a host of different problems all at once! :-) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/43514-osx86-reboot-problem/#findComment-314710 Share on other sites
