blanktruth
Hi, My Laptop consists of 2 partitions and I split the second partition into 2 with Partition Magic and formatted one of them as HFS+ during the MacOSX installation... After the installation my Windows XP on C: Drive is corrupted and I can not log on to Windows... The partitions are C: Fat32, D: NTFS, E: HFS+ might this be the reason of this corruption? thestevo
Do you know that your MBR is ok? I suspect the files are fine, you could check their integrity with a live linux CD if you wish. blanktruth
Probably as you said MBR is fine, but there is a problem with the partition sizes I am afraid. I have used Partition Magic's boot disk and the problem is solved. But this is the 2nd time it happened. Do you think is it because of having FAT32, NTFS and HFS+ all in one hard disk? thestevo
No, that isn't the problem. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/43237-macosx-installation-corrupts-windows-xp/#findComment-310680 Share on other sites
peterblood
Apple's disk utility messes up HDD partition table. To avoid that one can create a partition with the desired size of any type, say FAT32, boot with any live Linux CD and use fdisk to change the type of the newly created partition to AF.
