djcrazymonkey
Hey guys, I\'m really interested in running osx86, but if possible, I\'d like someone to kind of give me a lowdown on what will and won\'t work, how reliable and easy to use it is, and how much of my hardware will work. I\'m a relatively techincal person with quite a bit of command prompt and terminal experience, and I\'m willing to get dirty to get something as awesome as os x working, but I don\'t want to spend tons of my time trying to get this working on my system if it\'s ultimately futile. My system is an Asus M2NPV-MX (http://www.asus.com/products4.aspx?modelmenu=1&model=1169&l1=3&l2=101&l3=0) I\'m using the built in video (GF6150) sound (SoundMax AD1986A) and LAN (I'd assume it's Nforce4 LAN) with a gig of dual chan OCZ and an Athon64 3500+ Orleans core. My HDD is a 160GB Barracuda on SATA2. Thanks for your help. kevinosx
look in the wiki and there is a section on computer and hardware types that work/don't work etc. It will do ya good Or if you search your components you will find out I guarantee it Welcome! OSX is an adventure for us pc users that's worth the payoff but the road can be touch sometimes Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/43229-the-lowdown/#findComment-309468 Share on other sites
