I have an HP DV6205us laptop that I just purchased. It has Intel Pro/100 integrated Ethernet, and the Broadcom 4311 MiniPCI wireless card. MacOS 10.4.8 jAS patched, installed fine, and when the welcome and registration part comes up, it asks me to pick a wireless network. I choose one, and then enter the SSID, and I am online. When I look at the airport icon, it shows up like the airport is off. When I click on it, my options are AirPort: not configured, and configure your network. The airport info is greyed out.

Neither my wireless or my onboard Ethernet work. I have tried tulip, but I am a new to this, like a lot of people. I have tried searching the forums, but haven't found anything concrete to help me out.

Any suggestions?

got it to work using the instructions in this post:

Does anyone have a suggestion on how to get the on-board ethernet to work? The HCL says that it is supported natively, but it isn't even detected.

Which ven/dev ids for the onboard lan? I got my onboard Intel Pro/100 VE working, it reports VEN=8086, DEV=1092. All I did was edit the Info.plist for IONetworkingFamily.kext/Contents/Plugins/Intel8255x.kext/Info.plist in the Extensions directory. I added my vendor and device code to the PCI Match list in there. It helps if you do all your editing as root, then you dont have permissions problems. To be root, type sudo su - in terminal.
