WGB
Hello all, Now I have MacOSX 10.4.7 native installed on nForce4 chipset and I have 2 RTL8139 and it does not work. In System Preferences I can see that devises works, and plugged/unplugged cable, also I can assign a IP address to interface, but whan I try ping router I have "No route to host" or "Host is down", and IP-address not converted to MAC-address ("arp -an" say this to me). And more - once I have the working network, but after reboot it does not work again. I'm not sure what exactly give me this result, I rebooting in safe mode and change IONetworkingFamily.kext on one from 10.4.3 and then from 10.4.7 again etc. And I try make this again but I have no result. So if someone have the same problem or know how to solve this problem it will be great if you say to me. P.S.: Sorry for my english Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/42661-realtec-rtl8139-does-not-work-properly/ Share on other sites
peterblood
WGB, Check if your mac address is all '0'... If so you may try to force one. ifconfig to check network config. You may search for SetMac here for a script that sets mac address for nics automatically. Cheers! WGB
thanks fo reply. I have valid MAC-address in ifconfig an System Preferences and SetMac script do nothing in my case. Everything looks right? but does no work. But in system.log I can see one message from /System/Library/CoreServices/mcxd.app "Unable to get ethernet address", but I don't know what does this mean.
