Hello, I think I am the odd ball out because i have found posts on how to not get your computer to sleep when you shut the lid, but I am having the opposite problem. I want my computer to sleep... I mean I go to the apple icon and go to sleep, and it does nothing! I shut my lid, and it does nothing! Does anyone out here have a kext+instructions on how to enable sleep? Thank you so much for your help!

Shawn

For some strange reason, I post it but it is not showing my signature describing what computer I have, anywho, I have a dell inspiron 6000, if that helps!

The problem is ACPI (Advanced Configuration and Power Interface) it is not fully supported and it may never be on a HackinTosh. The ACPI in OSX was written to support Mac hardware only not your PC

This subject has been talked about so your not alone but there are threads on this subject. Take a little more time in your searching, try searching for your model of laptop that would help.

Hey! Thanks a lot for that reference, while it didn't help me too much with the sleep problem, it gave me some testimony from people on how to fix the video problems, after hours of searching, I have found very few people who has x300 mobilities and they weren't much help, but these two work well, you are obviously a lot more efficient at this than I am.

A recommendation for the site, if possible, I would recommend a mirror for some of the more popular items, like the koverg patch, callisto, titan, natit (and all versions) and have the files somewhere, the callisto site is down and so is the titan, so when people say "I tried this file!" it can be annoying when I can't get the file after I google it.

Anywho, just a recommendation!
