Hey guys, in an effort to get network support for my install of OSX86, I took a random older ethernet card out of one of my unused machines (currently, there is no supprt for either of my onboard NICs on my ASUS A8N-SLI). I booted it up in Windows, and it indentifies it as an "Intel 8255x-based" NIC. I saw that this card is,in fact, supported in the HCL. To my surprise, upon booting into OSX86, I was even able to configure it. Yet, for some reason,I can't connect to the internet via Safari or IE. I'm currently using Cox Cable internet connected through a Linksys cable modem and Linksys Wireless-G 4-port router. I've tried both settings when going through the network wizard in OSX, however, I don't know Cox's DHCP id for the cable modem wizard and in the "connect through LAN" wizard, I have a dynamic IP address and can't enter one for that field.

Is this a problem on the part of the NIC itself, router, drivers,or me just being a dumbass? Any suggestions appreciated.

I believe the proper .kext is loaded. I've tried it with both the standard Apple8225x.kext and the tulip.kext, and neither have had any different result.

I'm not exactly sure what you consider "active",but in the hardware profiler,it shows up as a network card on id0.

PnP is not disabled,I don't believe.

its not about personal beliefs........try it

Firstly, what I meant by "I believe" is that I was unsure of what I had enabled in my BIOS,not that I believe one option will work and one won't. No need to have an attitude.

Secondly, I have checked, and yes, PnP support is off (Default). I even tried turing it on and neither option worked to remedy the issue.
