CharlesP83
I am getting this same error using the JaS 10.4.8 image (I tried two different torrent files just in case one was corrupted). when i boot off the cd, everything progresses smoothly until it tries to load the ATA devices and it comes up with the device blocking bus error. This is with the install DVD, I could not eve install os x. My hardware is a Abit A8n5x with two Sata drive connected. one is a large 320 gig drive and the other is a 160 gig drive in two partitions, one a boot drive and the other for files and whatnot. Specs (in easy to read format): Athlon 64 3200+ Asus A8N5X EVGA 7600gt 2 gigs of Corsair XMS (4x512) SB Audigy 2ZX (or something0 160GB Maxtor 320GB Seagate 7200.10 I know there are loads of problems with the NForce4 boards, but since everyone else seems to be able to at least INSTALL OSx86 I am curious as to why my setup is causing so many problems. I have read that you have to delete some kexts pertaining to the PATA, and i even tried turning off legacy USB and other bios options regarding the IDE bus to no avail. Unfortunately i cannot provide more info than this for the time being as the computer is not with me for another 3 months. I currently boot from xp, should i try the VM Ware install method? I don't own VM Ware so I would have to get creative in acquiring a copy i suppose...
