mmoalem
hi there all - just installed for the first time osx on a pc (jas 10.4.8 on a core2duo laptop) and it works almost perfectly (some problems with audio and ethernet recognition) however my main reason to installing osx is to learn Final Cut Pro - i tried to install the 5.1 studio edition but it doesnt work - after further reading i understand that it cant work on the 950 chipset - now is there any workaround? or perhaps would an older version work? any ideas??? cheers bigM Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/40042-final-cut-pro-on-intel-950gma-any-workaround/ Share on other sites

antic
It should run on a gma950. I have it running on a intel 915gagl motherboard. Select show package contents then delete the installation check files you might have a bit more luck. mmoalem
first tahnk you both for the replies! ok so first what doesnt work after installation: sound (in winxp i can see that it is 82801G (ICH7 family) HiDef Audio and there is also a sigmatel driver) and ethernet (according to PCWIzard2007 it is Marvell Semiconductor Yukon 88E8038) there is also a warning after boot: system extension can not be used... aplleIntel915.kext now in regard to Final Cut Pro - i managed to install version 4 but when trying to run it is reports that it cant run as it requires AGP card (FCP Studio 5.1 is an installation disc and i dont know how to unpack/delete the installation check files - maybe you can help with a more detailed instuction...) cheers michel Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/40042-final-cut-pro-on-intel-950gma-any-workaround/#findComment-286690 Share on other sites
