Dear list,

I installed OS X 10.4.8 on a HP dc5100 and got it up-and-running in no time using the info on this forum. Thank you all for that!!!

The only thing not working correctly is my onboard Intel Extreme graphics videocard. It refuses anything other than 1024x768 and I'd very much like to use 1280x1024...

This is the output from the System Profiler:

Intel GMA 900:

 Chipset Model:	GMA 900
 Type:	Display
 Bus:	Built-In
VRAM (Total):	64 MB of shared system memory
 Vendor:	Intel (0x8086)
 Device ID:	0x2582
 Revision ID:	0x0004
Kernel Extension Info:	No Kext Loaded
 Displays:
Display:
 Resolution:	1024 x 768
 Depth:	32-bit Color
 Core Image:	Not Supported
 Main Display:	Yes
 Mirror:	Off
 Online:	Yes
 Quartz Extreme:	Not Supported

I already tried changing the device id's in /System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntel*.kext to read x25828086, but to no avail...

What to do next?

Thanx!

Harold...

I have the same question but Im on a laptop. In can connect an external monitor and modify its resolution from system preferences but dont get anything higher than 1024x768 for the main laptop display as a choice.
