ecotopian
Check my sig for hardware specs. I have been trying to troubleshoot issues with my nForce4 LAN card not working correctly. So I installed 2 different NIC cards known tro work via the HCL. Problem is, they don't work!!! Thoroughly frustrated, I decided to start poking around in the logs - and sure enough - I'm getting error messages about the drivers for the NIC cards. The two different cards are a Netgear FA311 and an Intel Pro/100+ card. The following Error is what occurs when booting: kernel[0]com.apple.driver.AppleIntel8255x isn't a valid mach-okernel[0] error mapping modulefile com.apple.driver.AppleIntel8255x kernel[0] can't map com.apple.driver.AppleIntel8255x in preparation for loading kernel[0] can't determine dependencies for com.apple.driver.AppleIntel8255x kernel[0] couldn't alloc class "Intel82557" I get the same results for the Netgear FA311 card with it's appropriate driver. I am running the latest 10.4.8 JaS release with Patch and diskutils ppf's applied to install disk I have tried installing the IONetworkingFamily.kext from 10.4.6 and 10.4.4 with the same results. What would be causing this error to occur - as Networking is the ONLY thing keeping me from a fully functional hackintosh. The forcedeth.kext solution is dead for me as well , hence the use of a PCI NIC card. HELP!!! tiqo
The IONetworkingFamily.kext is a common problem with the tubgirl and jas release. By replacing it with an older version, networking has to be working. Dont forget to repair permissions (as i forgot it each time i installed it) gehe.. Good luck ! ecotopian
which older version are you referring to??? I have 10.4.6 and 10.4.4 - Does running an AMD processor cause any conflicts with this???
