Phluxual
Hi! I decided to make the leap and try out OSX86 on my laptop. However, when I boot into the OS it shows me the welcome video... Right before my screen goes black! I am using the latest jas installer with both of the recommended ppf patches applied (I'm not at my home computer right now so I don't know the exact file names - I will post them as soon as I get home). I have found a couple of fixes from browsing the forums ("LaptopDisplay" kext and MacVidia 1.0.81). However, because I am new to this whole scene, I have no idea how to go about installing these fixes. Because I cannot see anything, I'm going to assume I have to use a prompt to install these files. Could a kind soul please point me in the direction of the commands I should use, or at least read up on? Thanks <3. Phluxual
Bumping this thread as I am getting desperate:(. I cannot figure out how to mount my dvdrom (I burned a cd with the fixes I need). I also cannot manage to mount a USB drive. My friend suggested I use ls /dev | grep disk and then use mount -uw <drive> to be able to read/write from the drives. However, when I try to do that I am getting an error saying something like the file or file system is not recognized. Anyone have any tidbits of advice they can bestow upon me? Thanks!
