Lord Mac Posted January 19, 2007 Share Posted January 19, 2007 Hi there, i have successfully installed jas 10.4.8 and everything works fine except for the audio...mac simply won't detect my built in audio card...it's a realtek ac97 chipset and yes, i do have appleac97audio.kext...any suggestions? audio worked perfectly in 10.4.7... frizbot Posted January 19, 2007 Share Posted January 19, 2007 Perhaps you could copy the old kexts into the new system. Realtek has a number of AC97 chips AFAIK, usually with numbers like ALC850 etc. By giving the motherboard model (or laptop model), or giving more specifications, you might find more help. There's a thread in the Tutorials subforum for integrated audio chips, but I was reading it earlier and it seemed out of date by at least 10.4.7.
