choobs
So using various tutorials found around this form, I have successfully installed OSX86 on VMware 5.5.3 on my Thinkpad G41. I used the JaS DVD with PPFs 1 and 2 applied. It's actually working pretty darn good except for two things. I have no audio, and in fact, no audio devices . This Thinkpad has a "SoundMAX Integrated Audio Device" and I know people have had issues with the SoundMAX devices, but I thought VMware circumvented hardware issues like that... My network connection is another story... It's technically functional but I'm having a bizarre problem with it. If I boot with the eth in bridged mode, Network status says the network cable is unplugged. This is regardless of whether or not I am using the wired or wireless connection. If I set it to NAT or "host-only" then it gets an IP. If I set it back to bridged mode, it works. The other problem is that NAT mode doesn't work. I can ping the IP of VMware's "NAT" interface (192.168.14.1), but I can't ping the IP that VMware assigns as the default gateway (192.168.14.2). "Host-only" network works fine and I activated Internet Connection Sharing, so I can connect that way. I'd really like to get the network connection working properly though.
