Hi all,

I'm trying to install Mac OS X 10.4.7 (JaS) on the following hardware:

Intel Core2 Duo 6300 1.8GHz

Intel D946GZIS motherboard

1 GB RAM DDR2

160 GB disk connected as master and DVD drive as slave

Gigabye graphics with ATI X1600

The installation stops with an error (with properly selected Intel patches and SSE3). I tried many times also disabling the second core. The failure also occured when trying out JaS 10.4.6 also!!

What did I do wrong? The HCL shows that the processor is supported, the motherboard is not listed anywhere... any help?

connect your burner directly to the power supply

hi, i installed Jas 10.4.7 on the following system:

Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 1.86GHz LGA775

Gigabyte GA-8I945GZME-RH Motherboard

Lakeport 945GZ Chipset

300Gb Seagate SATA2 Hard Drive

1Gb DDR2 667Mhz Ram

Nvidia 7600GT

it sounds like its the installation dvds, uve tried 2 dvds with .6 and .7 installation? check the compatibility of your motherboard on the wikipedia, though it being intel theres a good chance it should work anyway

where does the error come up? what does it say? on boot press f8 then type -v, then you will be able to see where its going wrong, if you can, take a picture of the screen where installation stops (in verbose mode) and post it up with giant question marks =p

If i were you, i would get the latest update for your bios (make sure u get the right one or screw everything up) install it in windows or whatever, then make a copy of the installation dvd at a low speed (3x etc) to surely know it is writing properly, dont use a dvdrw.

then try again. tick sse3 and JaS 10.4.7 update only when installing

if none of this works, disconnect everything in ur computer except the hdd ur using to install, keyboard mouse moniter and dvd drive, then try it again.. if that doesnt work, start saving for powermac or something =p
