But I have sometimes some bugs (plantage in french), then OSX is bloqued and i have to restart the computer with on/off button. Another problem, i can't use my USB mouse.. do you know a site which explain the base of OSX functionment, where i can see CPU activity, RAM used etc.. Thanks! Your site is the best! Can I upgrade my 10.4.3 to 10.4.8 ?(I have the Jas version). or my version is too old?? if I can, where are the patched upgrade please... Thanks for your help! kesdonc Posted January 17, 2007 Share Posted January 17, 2007 Bonjour, Les maj sont assez complexe. Je te conseille plutot de formater et reinstaller la 10.4.8. (attention il faut une version de jas avec un kernel seemthex). Pour ma part je suis resté à la 10.4.3 et j'attends la 10.5... pour mettre la mise à jour. Ca fait depuis novembre 2006 que cette version est installé et le système est parfaitement stable. Le seul hic est que je ne peux installer la Photoshop CS3...qui necessite la 10.4.8. Inakys Posted January 22, 2007 Author Share Posted January 22, 2007 j'ai un dell 5160, une partie de la config est dans le premier post, mais j'ai pas toutes les infos.. pour les video j'ai VLC, mais l'image est très sacadée et le son aussi. Safari plante de façon très aléatoire, c'est même pas quand je lui fait faire bcp de choses en même temps, c'est n'importe quand.. là, je viens juste d'installer la 10.4.8 de JaS. mais c'est encore pire. 3messages d'erreur au démarage (concernant l'audio et la carte graph). les images sont super sacadées (même la souris!) Donc: A l'AIDE! il faut essayer de choper des pilotes pour chaque composant? ou alors le syst est pas compatible? je peut même pas filer la config du système, j'ai même plus de connexion réseau, ni la possibilité de brancher une clef USB (tout ça c'était possible avec OSX 10.4.3!!!) Dell Inspiron 5160 P4 2.8G SSE/SSE3, 512M DDR RAM, XGI VOLARI, 30G Hdd 10.4.3 install using the JAS patched install DVD works fine with following exceptions: 1. Added "Graphics Mode"="1440x1050x32" to run in native resolution mode. 2. Ethernet & Wireless Network both work. 3. Now and then applications exit on their own. Completely random. 4. Audio skips all the time even with no programs running. 5. Some of the high-end gfx are crappy (like running flurry as a screensaver, very low fps) P4 3.06 with Hyper threading 512 DDR, geforce 5200, 100 gig hd, dell 1350 wireless, bios version A08. Installed 10.4.5 universally patched for sse2/sse3, AMD, I belive it was all maxxus patches. 1. Video recognized as vesa 3.0, installed macvidia beta driver and is working, post install once in a while the system will hang when going from text based darwin boot to graphical osx boot. Runs @ 1400x1050x32 without issue now. 2. Audio works, hiccups and pauses, fixed by turning off hyperthreading in the bios (doesnt not show up in the system profiler) 3. Wireless working with changes to the kext, found information in the forum. 4. System became much more stable once hyperthreading was turned off. before apps would crash all the time now almost never.
