Hi there, was wondering if someone could help me out here, I'm fairly new to terminal commands and the likes but have managed to get a little done.

My problem is my Acer Aspire 1703SC has an O2Micro OZ6912 CardBus and it doesn't appear to be covered by the several PCMCIA fixes various posters have released. I have the details needed to make the edit to PCCardFamily.kext but cannot do it myself, for one I have no idea which fields in the file need altering, and from what I've read it seems editing it in textedit etc. is insufficient since it needs to be hexedited and have values converted to base64 or some such. All stuff I'm way out of my depth with unfortunately. Perhaps someone could assist me in getting the cardbus active? Details of the hardware below:

Vendor ID: 1217

Device ID: 6972

PCI Bus 0, Device 10, Function 0

Memory Range: FFE7E000-FFE7EFFF

Memory Range: FFE7D000-FFE7DFFF

Memory Range: FAC00000-FEBFFFFF

I/O Range: FD00 - FDFF, FC00 - FCFF

IRQ: 17

Memory Range: 000DB000-000DBFFF

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. :)

Ok, under Windows on my desktop system I've managed to insert the correct I/O and memory ranges into IOPCCardFamily.kext's Info.plist using a hex editor, I was certain to convert the hexadecimal values into Base64 first and they look quite similar to the existing entries so I'm pretty sure I've done that right.

I could've sworn I saw several posts state that you should insert your vendor and device ID's into the kext too though and I still have no idea where to insert those, so if anyone could answer that for me I should be able to finish this off myself.
