Hi,

i tried to install the "JaS 10.4.8 AMD Intel SSE2 SSE3" on my IBM Thinkpad Z61m (Intel Core Duo, SATA).

I created in Windows with "diskpart" and the command "create partition primary if=af" a partition for Mac OSX. Then I set this partition bootable and booted from the installation dvd with F8 and the parameter "-v".

Everything worked fine, but when selecting a volume, no volume appears on the list. My hard disk is detected, but not mounted. I cannot "activate" it in the mac osx harddisk tool.

I also switched the disk between AHCI and "Compatibility", but the result was the same.

The System Profiler finds a SATA disk.

Whats wrong? I have not clue.

The first step once you are in the installer is to go to the Utilities menu and select Disk Utility. Select your partition in the left pane and click the Erase tab in the right pane. Make sure it is set to MacOS Extended Journaled and click the Erase (format) button.

When done, quit Disk Utility and your formatted partition should now show up in the installer.

Thanks a lot - it worked great.

Now, I installed OSX and installed the Acronis OS Selector. I can begin to boot OSX, but after 2 or 3 seconds, OSX hangs with the error:

panic(cpu 0 calls 0x003A8D2F): Unable to find driver for this platform: "ACPI"

Any idea?

platform=X86PC in boot options

Great idea, even if a lot of people say that this won't work. But I will try nevertheless.

But at which point can I enter this line? Pressing F8 and F6 doesn't work. I gets stuck immediately after starting to boot.

Or do you mean I should install OSX with these options?

Thanks.
