0l33l
Hi All. I've got a Intel 845 based motherboard (manufactured by Intel) whose Ethernet worked propery with JaS' 10.4.7. Now with the new DVD release, the ethernet is not detected at all. It doesn't show up in the network properties. Anyone know what to do, or know were to find the file that I need to replace? Thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/37795-integrated-ethernet-stopped-working-after-1048/ Share on other sites
Proteo
I assume your mobo has the same ethernet adapter as mine (Intel PRO/100 VE). You'll need to locate IONetworkingFamily.kext in your 10.4.7 DVD. 1. get Pacifist and install it. 2. Insert your 10.4.7 DVD and open with Pacifist: /Your 10.4.7 DVD/System/Installation/Packages/Essentials.pkg 3. In the tree, locate /System/Library/Extensions/IONetworkingFamily.kext and drag it to your desktop. 4. Create a backup of your current IONetworkingFamily.kext (just in case) and do the usual kext replacing (delete kext cache, replace old with the new one, fix permissions, reboot). That should take care of it, but here's another solution.
