hi,

my iBook is connected to internet through a airport extreme and I receive a signal from a building in front of me. I'd like to share this connection to my desktop G5 through firewire but it doesn't work.

I use DHCP to both sides, I start internet sharing on the iBook "from Airport to computers using Firewire", then I start document sharing and web sharing but nothing happens.

anyone knows how to do this?

thanks

yea this is the one thing i have trouble with in osx. in windows i could just active internet connection sharing(ICS) and then i would be set but when i tried it with osx i failed miserably. i would try a static ip and see how that works. i guess windows is easier is some places. :thumbsup_anim:

go to system prefs->network, in the show bob select Network Port Configurations. Make sure that the FW is ticked and activated on both machines. Now your computer will try to connect to the network in the order on the list, so on your client drag the FW to the top of the list/
