o Mike o
I need to repair the mbr on my mac hard drive. Its a 250gb ide drive. Its messed up because I had linux installed on another drive and installed lilo to this drive. But, now lilo is gone along with the linux drive so this mbr doesn't work, I have to use the dvd to boot. Like windows repair console, fixmbr, is there any exclusive mac way of doing this? Thanks. Fernando Birra
hmmm, i think it is fdisk -u device where device is your disk device. You can use: diskutil list to list your disk devices. The -u switch is intended to reset your master boot record while preserving the partition table. Hope this helps and don't blame me if it doesn't or if you screw your system Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/37225-fixmbr/#findComment-265036 Share on other sites
o Mike o
I was also thinking about using my slackware disk to cfdisk the drive and label it as darwin? I dont't know, its just annoying having the long bios wait and then using the dvd.
