vista rtm installed, wanna install mac os 10.4.8 JaS

 

So i burned the dvd, and i go to boot off dvd, it goes right( pre installation), then it just hangs at the very first grey screen... the little thing is spinning and spinning ( i guess the loading circle?). does it take a while to initially start up?

 

 

also how do i create a new partition in vista for OS x? Im used to partition magic but it dont work in vista..... i heard vista has something similar built in, but i have yet to find it...

as far as i know and dont quote me on this you will not be able to run it off a partion on the same disk ie device that windows is on you will need another disk the other alternative is to just use vmware and run it in a virtual disk but not a good solution in the long term as you always have to boot windows first..

i tried this a while ago and couldnt get vmware to run on vista so i reinstalled xp and everything was cool. also im not sure if you need to use vmware, next time you try to boot of the cd try running with a -v flag so you can see what its hanging on...maybe waiting for root?
