Well I recently heard about dual-booting and this OSx86 project and thought, "Wow."

So now that I'm actually going to sit down and map out a plan to do it so the whole process runs smoothly I'm a bit excited actually =P

I have a HP Compaq nx9600 and on the Wiki it says everything works except the resolution, which doesn't bother me much, but it doesn't specify if wireless works..can anyone verify that?

Also, I was wondering what I should do in terms of the whole partioning thing. I have Windows XP now and want this to be the main. I just want the Mac to run with probably 3 or 4 gigs for the start but I figure once I get used to it I'll add a bit more space, is that possible?

When the download does finish I am under the impression I have to burn it to a DVD. I saw the file was about 4 Gigs, I'm guessing I'll need a few DVD-Rs :(

Lastly, I was wondering what I need to get. Not where to get it just what exactly. I know i need 10.4.6 but what specifically?

Thanks in advance! Once I finish the process I'll be sure to help everyone on the forum out with what I can :thumbsup_anim:

A quick Google indicates your wireless is Broadcom. This is compatible but may need to edit a file.

Minimum 6 GB for your OSX partition. Adding to it afterward is not easy so choose a good size upfront.

One DVD-R will do it. Burn at slowest speed possible

10.4.6, 10.4.7 or 10.4.8 patched DVD's should be fine.
