jlrycm
I read these two Macworld articles and I felt they are on point when analyzing the possible Apple wins behind the MacBook Neo. https://www.macworld.com/article/3079878/if-you-think-macbook-neo-is-a-bad-deal-its-not-for-you.html https://www.macworld.com/article/3081039/tech-bros-are-lying-to-you-about-the-macbook-neo.html i would love to hear what you guys think about them. Max.1974
@jlrycm Hi Very cool topic. I found the Neo a bit fluffy haha, but for the price I would still get a Mac Mini. At least it’s guaranteed to work. But the mobility and the idea are to reach students and enthusiasts who want to experience macOS as a laptop (MacBook) in a more affordable way. The problem, I believe, might be that it uses an iPhone or iPad chip, which could be a bit slow. But since I haven’t tested it, we’ll just have to wait and see 2 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/362484-macbook-neo-fresh-perspectives/#findComment-2847985 Share on other sites
jlrycm
If the consumers use the iPhone to navigate internet and play games, they are satisfied with its performance and want something similar in a low-budget laptop, then this laptop would please them. A Mac mini is not a laptop so I would not compare it to the Neo. This laptop is targeting a market that MacBook Air’s are not able to attract due to budget considerations. I think the MacBook Neo specs will improve over time, but right now it’s going to disrupt the Windows $500-$700 laptop market which is full of crappy laptops with low cost peripherals and unsatisfied consumers, and will earn additional market share for Apple in the computer space. And more market share adds pressure to Apple as they will need to improve and innovate more like in old Steve Job’s days.
