i have a dell and you described the exact same thing mine suffers from only i have to fix the keyboard before

i do anything on it again, (need to resolder the audio ic or repair the audio ic (Bios Unlock Abuse to Flash OEM Logo to Dell Efi 1.0 killed it (well that laptop their describing as efi 0.9 since its not the full specification)) in total, and i need a new keyboard) 

only in my situation i have to get one of the encrypted disks to load or begin loading with opencore

it seems to like to hang and not do anything just an apple logo , the quickest way to OK

this issue is 1. Youd have to have an intel integrated card like me, youd have to be able to USE it,

2. Youd have to have an nVidia Optimus Graphics Card Option in your BIOS, and an nVidia graphics

card, and instead of intel had opted to go with the nVidia Card: My issue is it does what you just said but

thats not the issue, the issues mouse artifacts.

if its working don't touch it, I assume that as I myself found no solution for my mouse artifacts problem then I assume

it to be a quirk of the actual machine that someone would have to see this look at and go ok to.

as for forging a driver if you just changed the device ids this is ok for hardware where there's not another

solution, but you'd have to do it every upgrade see, what I suggest doing instead is going the DSDT Method,

OR using WhateverGreen.kext as its perfectly fine to use that with the Intel Card... but if you choose to go

the DSDT Method you'd be using EITHER OR INTEL or a Dedicated Graphics card, id just accept it for what

its worth as like I said the specific issue your describing I have exactly the same one and its with the Clover Bootloader Correct? not OpenCore? or is it Both because that's one thing I haven't done I gotten OpenCore working on just a bare machine configuration only an iMac, I followed the same steps and it works for me on my kabylake iMac but on my SandyBridge Dell E6420 it doesn't. that's what machine is doing it on my end is the SandyBridge Dell E6420. Mouse Artifacts also. IT COULD simply just be that like they say there's no solution for Optimus machines... If it works at all is then great...
