ovidoi Posted October 13, 2025 Share Posted October 13, 2025 (edited) Hello, I recently started installing macos tahoe 26.01 on my systems, everything was fine until the installation was completed and the last reboot, when I was left with a black screen and only the mouse cursor. I tried on both systems Alienware m17x r3 laptop and lenovo s30 desktop xeon e5 1620 v1 rx 550 2gb video card. Bootloader both clover and opencore with recent kexts, weg disable install. Sequoia working very good with no issue with clover. strangeron Posted October 13, 2025 Share Posted October 13, 2025 Hello, In short: Laptop external graphics (HD 6850M) will not work on a Mac. The RX550 GPU variant is Lexa and is not Mac compatible. In structure, missing apps, utilities and path of criptexes alias path app and os, here is screen in sequoia clover config, working with no issue. This disables board-id checking and may be necessary to resolve the screen turning black after booting. -radvesa Vesa mode may resolve the issue. I try to build opencore to windows from tutorials step by step, no way, installer hang up. I need to finish install with no graphic acceleration, then video patching with OCLP. In clover have this ssdt, sequoia work with this without issue. ovidoi Posted October 16, 2025 Author Share Posted October 16, 2025 (edited) Hello everybody, same issue, but this time I have KP to last stage from verbose boot. Installer doesn't find path, in volumes folder doesn't exist files, only folders, I attach photo. In boot clover and open core I use -crypt_force_avx -crypt_allow_hash_validation this boot arg, with and without, same issue, some help please! Both boot loaders same KP.
