I installed Tahoe (Beta 3) on an Ivy Bridge (HD4000) laptop. I've reached the language selection (using IMAC20.2 symbios). However, the keyboard (both internal and external), mouse, and trackpad are unresponsive. The cursor moves seconds after moving the mouse and trackpad, but I can't proceed any further. I've tried different GPU combinations. I've used the USB port patch and the SSDT plugin (using BigSur), USB Injectall, and various combinations of the VoodooPS2 kext.

There's currently no OCLP patch for Ivy Bridge, but I want to complete the installation.

What do you recommend?

I think you should install Sonoma (macOS 14) with OCLP. You’ll have full acceleration, input devices working, and a stable system. Then update to Tahoe once OCLP releases official Ivy Bridge patches. Trying to brute-force macOS 15 right now on Ivy Bridge isn’t worth it unless you just want to experiment.

When updating an operating system with an OCLP patch, if I restart it without removing the OCLP patch, the computer won't boot. This has happened to me a few times when updating previous operating systems. I don't know if the same thing will happen to the system.

Also, since the Sonoma to Tahoe update already removes any OCLP residue from the system, won't I still be in the same situation?

Success

Installed Tahoe to Ivy Bridge (HD4000). First I installer Sequoia (OCLP patch) than updated to Tahoe

@macmuhal44, OCLP-mod? Picture with English, please.

I prepared the EFI with OC simplify (https://github.com/lzhoang2801/OpCore-Simplify).
I installed Sequoia.
I patched it with OCLP (dortania).
I updated to Tahoe.
I implemented AppleHDA for audio with SimpeLoader (https://github.com/laobamac/SimpleLoader).
I haven't been able to activate Wi-Fi (both internal and external) yet.
I experience occasional freezes during use. If an OCLP patch for Tahoe is released, that problem will be resolved.

Hello. Tahoe is not suitable for daily use in its current state without a root patch using OCLP. It freezes frequently.

Hackintoshes with Radeon GPUs are more eligible and compatible to Tahoe than even real Intel macs

All generations, from Core Duo to 16th gen CPUs can run Tahoe perfectly as long as the motherboard's PCI slot supports Radeon 5000 series graphics cards

Hackintosh desktops are freer, and Hackintosh laptops are more limited

Using OCLP (currently 2.5.0) on Sequoia works fine, but since OCLP does not support the Tahoe, acceleration will not be available.
For the dGPU, a CPU with AVX2.0 or higher functionality (Hazwell or later) is required. Polaris 10 and later is supported, but for Navi 10 or earlier, WhateverGreen.kext 1.7.1d7 or later is required for installation.

Radeon GPUs don't need OCLP patch for Liquid Glass. The acceleration works out of the box with such GPUs.

Unless if the CPU has its own iGPU.

We hope you enjoy Ivy Bridge for many years to come.
