antipex Posted October 17, 2005 Share Posted October 17, 2005 I have an nForce 4 Ultra chipset and followed the AC97 audio how-to and it is now detected in System Preferences. However, the sound intermittently stops working randomly. For example: in iTunes I sometimes have to start and stop the playing many times until it works, and frequently when it switches to the next song I lose sound again. System sounds and QuickTime movies do the same thing. Sometimes you hear it, sometimes you don't. Any suggestions? Patched DVD onto it's own 120GB PATA hard drive EDIT: I saw another thread and as soon as I lost sound I plugged my speakers into a different jack and voila - got sound! So...I wonder if there's a way to get it to stick to one line out?
