bhuether
Hi, I installed Sonoma 14.5 on Asus Z790 ProArt, 14700k, 6950xt. For install and first boot into Sonoma I had SecureBootModel set to Disabled. All is fine. But Sonoma won't boot if I try to set it to Default. I installed Sonoma using USB installer that I made in Windows 11. That installer contained a 700 MB baseImage dmg, and install went fine. I installed on SN850X. On same machine I have Windows 11 on Samsung 990 Pro. I installed Windows first. I am using NVMeFix kext, and under Kernel Quirks have ThirdPartyDrives False. I have a feeling the problem has to do with how Default mode is dealing with file system. SIP settings don't seem to have an effect. What happens with Default is OC hands off to Sonoma, and shortly thereafter a reboot. I took video of the process and what I see in verbose on screen right before the reboot is either some NVMe related actions, or setpowerstate calls. I attached screenshots of a couple moments prior to reboot. I tried with and without NVMeFix, with ThirdPartyDrives False and True. Attached EFI (deleted some kexts to keep size under 10MB). Curious if anyone has ideas on what might be going on here or if I should just give up on Default and stick with Disabled. Or should I try to reinstall Sonoma using full installer created on mac? Could that make a difference? thanks EFIsanitized.zip Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/359557-securebootmodel-default-wreaks-havoc-on-sonoma-145-imacpro11-z790-asus-proart-theories/ Share on other sites
