J Lamp
Failed to prepare the software update. Please try again. I've tried all my usual tricks, I just can't get past it. I'd hate to have to download a full installer for a minor update. I didn't have this problem with 14.1. Edit: It took about 20 tries, but it finally installed without any (other) issues. deeveedee
Sonoma 14.1.1 running with OC 0.9.6 on HP Envy 15m (KabyLake-R / UHD620). Using Open Wireless for Intel Wi-Fi and Bluetooth (no Broadcom, no OCLP root patches). SMBIOS: MBP15,2. Running perfectly. Other attributes: SIP fully enabled, graphics frame buffer: 0x59160000, graphics device-id: 0x5916. Spoiler EDIT: After a day of regular use, Sonoma 14.1.1 with Intel Wi-Fi/Bluetooth is PERFECT for me. Very happy with this solution and am amazed that Sonoma works this well in this relatively early release. I am very pleased that this solution does not require breaking the APFS seal (for OCLP root patches) and does not require disabling SIP. EDIT2: My HP Envy battery life with Sonoma 14.1.1 is 04:30 with 15% battery remaining. That's respectable, given that this battery is 6 years old. deeveedee
My MBP6,2 hack running Sonoma 14.1.1 (patched with OCLP 1.3.0n) shows "Energy Saver" in System Settings. My MBP15,2 hack running Sonoma 14.1.1 (fully supported, doesn't require OCLP patches) shows "Battery" in System Settings. Based on what I have read, "Energy Saver" is for Mac Desktops and has limited power saving features. "Battery" is for Mac Laptops and has more mobile power saving features. Does anyone know why "Battery" does not appear when running Sonoma on my MBP6,2 (maybe it's as simple as the fact that Sonoma is looking for a supported SMBIOS)? Does anyone know how I might be able to get "Battery" to appear in System Settings on my MBP6,2? Thank you. EDIT: Here is some interesting reading. deeveedee
14.1.2 (Release) and 14.2 (Beta 4) installed without issues on my Dell Latitude E6410 - MBP6,2 (OCLP 1.3.0n Nvidia Root Patches / OC 0.9.6 / Open Wireless Intel Wi-Fi/BT) HP Envy x360 15m - MBP15,2 (OC 0.9.6, Open Wireless Intel Wi-Fi/BT) HP EliteDesk 800 G5 Mini - MM8,1 (OC 0.9.6). Open Core continues to support these hacks flawlessly! I have migrated my Dell Latitude E6410 from OCLP Wi-Fi root patches to Open Wireless Wi-Fi and performance is outstanding. I now use OCLP only for Nvidia root patches. Thank you to all the Devs. Edited November 30, 2023 by deeveedee 4 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/358004-macos-sonoma-1411-release/#findComment-2814097 Share on other sites
