eyemac
I tried to install JAS's 10.4.8 from scratch and after initial boot, could not continue due to lack of USB detection of keyboard or mouse. MB is ECS 945G-M3 with Pentium D 2gb RAM. Previous installs of 10.4.5 and 10.4.6 worked fine. No matter which options I chose in the Custom install section, I could not get the system to install. I tried booting with safe mode and also tried -v -f options also to no avail. I WAS able to get a fully functional system by doing a 10.4.6 install and then upgrading with the same DVD (JAS 10.4.8) using the combo update, GMA950 and 10.4.4 window options. Then used 10.4.5 modified audio kext and used beta 8 semthex kernel with proper repair of permissions! System now works great, but any insights into why I had the USB failure with the Native install? steve Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/35483-1048-jas-intel-sse3-usb-failure-on-install/ Share on other sites
theofan1960
Hi, I've you tried installing 10.4.8 by not selecting the USB 2.0 patch. But if you didn't selected it, try to select it. Good Luck ;-) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/35483-1048-jas-intel-sse3-usb-failure-on-install/#findComment-252547 Share on other sites
eyemac
Tried it both ways with same result. I am running 10.4.8 now, but I had to do the run around install as stated using 10.4.6 first. Would have preferred a direct install.. oh well.
