Hi

I just tried to install 10.4.6 (myz) on a PIV 1.7Ghz (Willamette).

I can see the gray Apple logo but then nothing happens.

When I start with -v option it stops at the line

"using 2621 buffer headers and 2621 cluster IO buffer headers"

Any ideas?

Thank you in advance (and sorry for my English :)

Try putting your hard drive and DVD drive on the same cable. Set the hard drive to master and the DVD drive to slave using jumprs, not cable select.

If that doesn't work, use VMWare to install OSX to your hard drive. After installation, OSX won't need VMWare to run.

Ohh no. Installation worked for a few minutes but then I got an error (see attachment)

It's German but I added English descriptions to the screenshot.

Maybe burning the image again will help - I'm not sure?? (does it matter whether I use a DVD-R or a DVD+R?) :)
