Hi folks,

since I started using a mac mini as carpc, I became kind of enthousiastic about Mac OS X. So I tried to use Mac OS also on my Tablet PC (Acer).

Installation of JaS 10.4.7 went fine, the update to 10.4.8 was also no problem at all. The notebook refused to reboot once, but this problem never occured again.

So far, thanks to all who are working on this wonderful project.

And here comes my trouble:

- WLAN (Intel Pro Wireless 220BG) is not working (not even recognized)

- LAN (Intel) is also not working

- using the tablet-function with the pen is also not possible (sure, I didn't expect that to work out of the box)

- the internal keyboard and the touchpad are useless. External ones (Microsoft Dekstop elite) via USB works fine.

The most important thing for me is to enable the network components, preferably with WLAN. Using my Mac mouse and keyboard (both bluetooth), working on the Acer is just great. But without the network, it's useless.

Maybe this is a good point to let you know that I have no idea of what I am doing here. I am an absolute beginner on this topic!

Thanks for your help,

your's Balu

:)

There is no driver solution for the Intel 2200 wireless. Maybe get an external USB wireless or see if you can replace internal wireless with Dell Truemobile 1390 or 1450.

Need model number of internal Intel Lan.

I think I've only ever read about one person using a tablet who got pen functions working. No others.

During boot just as soon as screen turns black, press and hold F8 key to get to command prompt. If grey Apple screen appears you missed it, try again. Type -v and <Enter>. Watch for errors about some kexts that might affect keyboard and touchpad. Might need to repair permissions on some kexts: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?act...st&p=232768

thanks for your help, I think I am closer to the solution.

I already bought a new USB WLAN device, explicitely saying Mac OSX support (it comes with it's own driver named RALINK), but still no success. Ethernet functionality seems to be missing completely. How can I find the model number of my build in nertwork cards?

I read that some guys here were at least able to use the Intel Pro Ethernet, but even that one doesn't work in my Acer.

Try downloading the latest USB driver from Ralink. See the Wireless link in my signature for the link to the drivers.

Windows -> Device Manager -> Network Adapters -> Ethernet card -> Properties -> read name, then -> Details tab -> vendor id = 4 characters after VEN_ -> device id = 4 characters after DEV_

For grins, get vendor, device ids of USB Wireless while there.
