GreyAsteroid
Apple recently released a help page on their support of adaptive sync here: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT212232 . It seems they're gatekeeping this feature to newer smbios despite it being supported at the hardware level by much older ones as evident by this technology being usable on Windows. So I'd like to figure out a way to "backport" this functionality to older smbios. If anyone is familiar with this sort of stuff I'd appreciate any help. I'm gonna take a look at the FeatureUnlock code and see if I can make sense of it in the meantime. 1 Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/349633-unlocking-variable-refresh-adaptive-sync-on-older-smbios/ Share on other sites
Aluveitie
Thanks for sharing the article. In early Monterey Betas I could select variable refresh rate, wow this explains why I can't anymore: they only allow it on MPX modules. Anyway, it was flickery as hell and unusable when it was enabled.
