Patrickxkillu
Hi, I recently reinstalled mac x86 10.4.6 and I am having troubles with my wireless. I have both a Belkin F5D6050 and a D-link DWL-520E. I was wondering how I can get one of these working as I want my hackintosh back. I've read about replacing old files from 10.4.3 but now I'm very confused. Could someone plase tell me how to get these working?Any help is greatly appreciated. Rammjet
The F5D6050 has an Atmel chipset and there are no OSX drivers. The DWL-520E has a Prism chipset and there are no OSX drivers. There is a development driver you can try: http://osx.totosoft.de/GTDriver.dmg Here is a page with the current status of wireless on OSX: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=34071 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/34758-need-help-with-wireless/#findComment-246681 Share on other sites
Patrickxkillu
It sucks that I have 2 cards with basically no support. I tried the prismgt driver but it didn't work. Is there anything special I have to do for it? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/34758-need-help-with-wireless/#findComment-246741 Share on other sites
Rammjet
Not really, I didn't expect it to work. The installer installs a GTDriver.kext and a WiFiGui.app. See if the app does anything. The driver has two cards listed. Find out what your vendor/device id's are in Windows and see if the listed cards match yours. Otherwise, add yours to the kext. Listed: vendor: 10b7 device: 6001 = (3com 3CRWE154G72) vendor: 1260 device: 3890 = (ISL3890, ISL3886, SMC2802W, SMC2835W, SMC2835W V2, WN4201B, SMC2802W V2, SMC2835W V3 EU, DWL-G650 A1, CG-WLCB54GT, WG511, ALLNET ALL0271, XG-600 and clones, XG-900 and clones) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/34758-need-help-with-wireless/#findComment-246756 Share on other sites
Patrickxkillu
Well for some reason I don't even have the app. So next I replaced my vendor and device id with the one in the kext file. The vendor id was the same : 1260 but my device id was 3873 instead of 3890. I reloaded the driver "sucessfully" but it still didn't work. I went into system info and looked at GTDriver.kext in Software -> Extensions and saw this: Dependencies: Incomplete Dependency Errors: com.apple.iokit.IONetworkingFamily: No valid version of this dependency can be found com.apple.iokit.IOPCIFamily: No valid version of this dependency can be found Could this be why it is not working? Patrickxkillu
Solved dependencies but it still doesn't work. Is it time to think I am screwed? Rammjet
No, I have same errors on my Broadcom wireless. The app is inside the Resources folder inside the kext. Double-click the app and see what happens. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/34758-need-help-with-wireless/#findComment-246823 Share on other sites
