simonthemime
Hey sorry if this is a terribly noob question.. I'm migrating from a successful non-vanilla setup for a vanilla install, following the Khronokernel-2 "OpenCore Vanilla Desktop" Guide and it doesn't have a plist for Sandy Bridge listed (though it has Ivy Bridge, and many others). What do I do at this stage? Thanks Target OS: Mac OS X High Sierra CPU: i7-2600k MOBO: Gigabyte P67X-UD3-B3 Edited February 20, 2020 by simonthemime Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/342657-opencore-what-config-plist-for-sandy-bridge/ Share on other sites
el pablo
The Ivy Bridge guide should cover it. I used it for my Asus P8P67/2500k. You might need to play around with the Booter Quirks, I think mine are set slightly differently. The internal graphics arent enabled on the P67 chipset so I didn't need to use the frame buffer settings. You might need to read the linked Intel Framebuffer Patching Guide to find the right settings. Edit: Nope - just seen you are on a P67 too, so you won't need to use the frame buffer settings either. filamento
I'm having trouble trying to do exactly this (in my case it's a Gigabyte GA-P67A-D3-B3 rev. 1.0 bios F7, with an intel i7-2600 ) How do you configure emulated NVRAM with OpenCore?? Should "WriteFlash" be set to YES, or is it better to set it to NO?? filamento
I'm finally giving up. I cannot, for the life of me, get Catalina installed using OpenCore in this horrible mainboard (Gigabyte Hybrid EFI is pure evil and atrocious!) I've switched back to Clover 5103, and Catalina boots and works correctly. I really wanted to try OpenCore, but it was damn impossible! EDIT: By the way, if someone wants to get Clover 5103 working with this mainboard, remember to delete or rename the "/EFI/BOOT" folder. This terrible hybrid EFI will create all sorts of problems if you don't remove that folder!! filamento
Here's a working config.plist file for Clover 5103 running Catalina on this computer: intel i7-2600 (Sandy Bridge) Gigabyte GA-P67A-D3-B3 (rev. 1.0) bios F7 ASUS GT640-2GD3 (Kepler) Remember to change MLB, serial number and SmUUID to your correct serial numbers (the ones in the attached file are anonymized) If anyone knows how to make this config work under OpenCore I'm all ears!! I've fought with this animal for many days and came up with nothing Regards. config.plist 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/342657-opencore-what-config-plist-for-sandy-bridge/#findComment-2710602 Share on other sites
laxxyy
Hi, I was try to boot my highSierra with opencore, but not luck. Than I was make a fresh install of Mojave and boom i was in. I read that some files must be deleted if you are using existing system which was previous boot with clover. Check opencore guide... el_charlie
I'm in this boat with my Asus U46E laptop. I can install just fine with Clover but as soon I use memory intensive apps I get UI freezes and graphic glitches and I have to reboot. I want to go to OC because on 0.5.7 onwards I see a ReservedMemory section and there's a sample for HD3000 memory corruption fix (the problem I'm pretty sure I have), but I can't meake it boot at all. I either get an instant reboot just after the kernel is loaded or a kernel panic depending of the Quirks I use. On clover I only can boot with AptioMemoryFix (included in OC) but not with OCQuirks. I could have a fully functional system with Clover but those glitches are horrible.
