i know vista wont come out for a lil while longer and i was doing some research on Vista and form i found the only difference between 32 and 64 bit is that 64 bit can allow more memory(up to 128 GB) and it has better security features. but the cons about 64 is that there are limited drivers out there for it. are there anymore advantages to 64-bit other than i mentioned such as a faster computer compared to a 32 bit processor. i have the new macbook pro intel core 2 duo which supports 64 bit and was wondering for when vista comes out i already know. thanks for the advice.

I can't speak for everyone else, but I've got 100% Vista 64 driver support on this brand spankin' new Core 2 Duo laptop that I just got last night. It took a while to locate a 64 bit driver for the 4-n-1 media card reader, but after that, it's all supported.

Also, I have a crappy HP Deskjet D1320 printer I got at Wally World for $25 or so. While it doesn't have Vista support yet, there is support for this printer under XP64, soooo... I grabbed those drivers, which of course wouldn't install under Vista Home Premium 64 - but they did extract to a temp folder which gave me access to them. I used the good old Add New Hardware wizard, pointed it to that temp folder and wham, 64 bit printing support.

So now this laptop really is flying along with Vista Home Premium 64 and I'm very happy with the performance overall. Of course, some program incompatibilities will always happen due to not everything being 64 bit just yet, but...

It works.
