xanatori
Hello! I tried everything I found about speed step and power management for my hackintosh. I installed Sierra with the install guide of rampagedev. Then I installed clover and again used his x79 dmg bundle to setup my hackintosh. (If you don't know it, it's this one: http://www.rampagedev.com/downloads/x79-dmg-2/) Everything is working fine for me, expect that my cpu always runs at 3,60 GHz. I tried this guide http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/324270-sandy-bridge-e-ivy-bridge-e-power-management-1013-dp/and also this guide http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/302310-sandy-bridge-e-ivy-bridge-e-power-management-1010-yosemite/#entry2080800 and several other, but I'm still stuck at always 3,6 GHz... Maybe you can help me, as my post on reddit sadly got me to nothing either. (If you wonder, I asked on reddit and then decided to try if it works when going clean, but nope.) I included my complete Clover folder from the EFI partition, if something is missing you may need to help me, please tell me, so I can get a solution! Thanks! KonstantinosNks
Try this config.plist and remove patched AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement from clover kexts. use the native one. config.plist.zip Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/328181-cant-get-speed-step-to-work-x79-i7-3820/#findComment-2511292 Share on other sites
xanatori
Try this config.plist and remove patched AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement from clover kexts. use the native one. Thanks for your help. Tried that, but still no power management... Here are my current P-States It's still stuck at 3,60 GHz. Is there maybe a bootflag or something in clover I need to configure? I saw (in clover configurator) that the CPU section is completely empty, maybe that needs to be filed? Hopefully we can get it to work, as it is the only thing remaining for my build to be done. KonstantinosNks
Try that config, this is my config for clover, almost idem system, x79 3930k. this should work. config.plist.zip Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/328181-cant-get-speed-step-to-work-x79-i7-3820/#findComment-2511340 Share on other sites
xanatori
Try that config, this is my config for clover, almost idem system, x79 3930k. this should work. Again, nothing changed with that file either... Still stuck at 3,60 GHz and no P-States... maybe something with my ssdt file is wrong as it only gives me one real p-state which is 35(36) And here is my SSDT.aml which is put under /EFI/EFI/CLOVER/ACPI/patched like it should be. Alongside with it is the SSDT-1.aml for my motherboard provided by rampagedev. SSDT.aml.zip Edit: found out that I still (maybe from my TimeMachine backup) had NullCPUManagement.kext in /L/E Now it mostly works, but is stuck at 4.3 GHz with some random drops below that. So maybe my ssdt is just {censored}. Output of AppleIntelInfo.kext: AppleIntelInfo.kext v1.4 Copyright © 2012-2015 Pike R. Alpha. Thats my problem... it works... somehow it mostly always (even with all background apps killed) stays way above 3,60 ghz... here my intel power gadget running for some time on idle. xanatori
Sleep works? Sadly no. But as it's a desktop pc and I never put a desktop pc in sleep mode in the last 10 years... yeah... I don't care too much about that. But speed step works. Even tho something I edited today killed my onboard bluetooth in macOS... using a usb dongle for that now. 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/328181-cant-get-speed-step-to-work-x79-i7-3820/#findComment-2511515 Share on other sites
