Spaz
Yes, thats right. I installed 4.8 (4.7 -> 4.8 update using Paulicat's method) and while some things are not working on this silly laptop, I now have dual monitor support! Not working: Core-Duo. When I enable both cores (t2300/1.66) it's "jerk/lag" city. Dock and terminal especially. Turn off one core, and everything is smooth. Sound. Have the 9200 and it doesnt work, even with the 9220 patch installed Wireless. Intel wireless, but doesnt show up anywhere Does work : Dual monitor. I just plugged an external monitor into the laptop vga out port, and suddenly I have en extended desktop! Here is the output from my XInfoAqua script in XChat (formated for easy reading) Hackint0sh CPU Intel Core Solo @ 2.16GHz [sSE3/PAE/XD/EST] L2 Cache 2048K RAM Used 253.6MB/512.0MB Virtual 0.00M/64.00M Disk Used 4.92GB/38.07GB Display GMA 950 [64 MB/CI/QE] 1024x768@60Hz and 1280x1024@75Hz OS: Mac OS X 10.4.8 (8L2127) Processes: 57 Up 29 mins (Nov-5-2006 : 16:53) This is not a joke or a fake. Someone else try it please! (edit, added screenshots) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/32301-dual-monitor-works/ Share on other sites
Bamboo
I never used a Dell, but on some other mobos OS X has been known to be stuttering with older BIOS versions. Did you try to upgrade it so you can use both your cores. GMA950 is known work flawlessly on desktop PCs so I think it's just normla it works. For your soundcard, if you don't mind an external card, the Creative Live! 24-bit External USB does wonders.
