ween
i installed OS X 10.4.6 When the system loads I recieve 2 error messages The system extension “/System/Library/Extensions/AppleAC97Audio.kext“ was installed improperly and cannot be used. Please try reinstalling it, or contact the product’s vendor for an update. The system extension “/System/Library/Extensions/AppleAC97Audio.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AppleAC97AudioIntelICH.kext“ was installed improperly and cannot be used. Please try reinstalling it, or contact the product’s vendor for an update. I did a search through out this forum But haven't seem to have any luck I saw one post that explained about using Pacifist to re-install the AppleAC97Audio.kext But I cannot seem to find it listed in the directory that the post explained. All the other kext files seem to show up except thtat specific one So I was unable to do that Tried the Disk Utility to repair permissions But it does not show any errors there So far everything else seems to work just fine as far as detecting hardware It is just the audio that does not seem to work Not sure if I have overlooked something Or if I am just not doing things correctly Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/32111-no-audio-after-installation/ Share on other sites

katmail
Audio/video plays too fast with standard Win2K audio driver for AC'97 audioSymtom: Audio and video plays too fast (about twice the normal speed). Hardware: Asus P4B mainboard with Intel 82801BA/BAM AC'97 Audio Controller. Software: Windows 2000 SP2. Default audio driver (ichaud.sys for "Intel® 82801BA/BAM AC'97 Audio Controller - 2445"). Cause: The audio driver included in Windows 2000 ist not compatible with the audio chip of the P4B mainboard. Solution: Download and install the newest AC97 audio driver from Realtek (download). I have heard of HDA Realtek ALC88X works Not not AC97 Realtek What is your Vendor ID and Device ID Refer to Rammjet (InsanelyMac Deity) http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...mp;#entry121883 Does you system have USB 2.0 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/32111-no-audio-after-installation/#findComment-226705 Share on other sites

Specs: Athlon64 3000+ (SSE2) 1GB Ram MSI K8MM-V Audio • 6 Channel software audio codec VIA VT1617A • Compliance with AC97' v2.3 Spec • Meet PC2001 audio performance requirement Booting of PATA 80gb HD SATA works I cant seem to find an answer about the audio thing. ALso, USB seems to be working weird. For example, i cant use my usb apple keyboard. i have to use an old PC keyboard and mouse. when i stick a jumpdrive, it shows in the USB tree under system profiler but not on the desktop. help? this is my first attemp at this :-P Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/32111-no-audio-after-installation/#findComment-226720 Share on other sites
