h3llfire83de
Hello Community , i registered this account in 2015 , and just read tutorials etc beause i dont want to use tonymacx86 stuff because i want a vanilla Install. In 2014 i orderd a Snow Leopard DVD from Amazon and starting install MAC on my 2 Laptops . As Yosemite comes out - i have some Problems with the Asus G71GX but with some Topics i read here i succesful getting it to work. Now i tried to Update to El Capitan but through the USB Changes - i get stuck and thats why i start a topic to getting help. With normal Boot Flags - i´ll get a Stop Sign (Probhited) and after verbose boot - the message appeared " still wating for root device" So i googled for it (startet for 2 weeks ) and in a Forum the tip was to try other USB Ports - i´tried it but no success. I´ll read and read and read , and a User wrote in his tutorial - a DSDT could fix the problem (on yosemite dont need it and i´m new on this but i make an DSDT and Put it on the Clover Folder: EFI/CLOVER/ACPI/ patched. But no way (dont know if i make something wrong , MaciASL - doesnt bring errors on compile . While im getting stucked ill tried something else I installed on a other Lapop El Capitan on the SSD - (a Asus too - a X64V Modell , on this machine a USB Port worked and i could install without errors) I take out the SSD and put it in the G71GX - bootet up fine , but no USB ( It was just a try ). Has anybody finished El Capitan on a older Hardware similar to mine? I´ve read something about a USB Fix but this seems for newer Hardware? Cause im Reading 6/7/8 Series . My Specs of the Laptop: Processor: Q9000 Quad-Core RAM: 6GB DDR2 RAM Chipset: P43 Express Chipset Graphics: GTX 260M If you need more information i will answere it . Sorry for my english - im from Germany hopeful understands me Thanks for Reading Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/311371-getting-help-with-my-asus-g71gx-laptop-with-el-capitan/ Share on other sites
