Hello Everyone,

My Config:

i5 4460

z97x Gaming 3

EVGA GTX 950 SSC

12 GB RAM (4X4X4) 2 Ballistix (1600 Mhz) and 1 Corsair (1333 Mhz)

120 GB SanDisk Ultra SSD

Bios Settings:

  • Disable VT-d
  • Set XHCI to Auto mode
  • Disable IGFX
  • Enable XHCI and EHCI handoff
  • SATA Configuration to AHCI

I am creating a fresh install of El Capitan on this system.

The system doesn't complete the install with my GTX 950 installed. I have to physically take the card out and boot into IGFX for the installation to continue.

Asking for help from folks who have a similar setup:

1. What's the best way to make the install process streamlined without fussing around with the Graphics card and booting with nv_disable=1 etc.?

Any recommendations on how to create a USB installer that will make the GTX 950 work directly with the initial install process?

2. Recommendations whether I should just used a DSDT file for my motherboard or use clover configurator post installation?

Thank you in advance for your time and help.

Hi,

what do you mean by "system doesn't complete the install with my GTX 950 installed"?

Are you not able to boot to installation process at all or installation gets stuck at some point?

I am not aware of any other solutions. As far as i know OSX stock drivers does not fully support GTX9XX (its only partially recognized and acceleration won't work) and you need to use web drivers to get it to work.

I have even tried to copy web drivers over the installation media and boot with web drivers enabled but this was not working.

I have same board as you and i don't use any dsdt file. Just clover config.
