Hi there,

really need help. Cannot reach the installer. Keep getting kernel panic: "Should have 8 Threads, but only found 9 for Die 0"@/SourceCache/xnu/xnu-2422.1.72/osfn/i386/cpu_threads.c:1094 - see attached screen.

My desktop is Fujitsu Celsius r570 - dual Xeon X5550 board, running only one CPU for the moment, Intel 5520 chipset.

I've tried both Yosemite and Niresh Mavericks from boot USB - kernel gets loaded, then drivers are being loaded up to the point of said kernel panic - nevermind whether it is Yosemite or Mavericks - same story in both cases.

When I disable multicores and hyperthreading in Bios, kernel panic message gets changed to "Should have 1 Thread, but only found 2"

On top of that, the same Mavericks starts painlessly on virtual machine on my Celsius run under Linux Manjaro.

So I am lost and have no clue whatsoever what might that be.

Would appreciate any help.

Thanks

Piotr

Ok, thank you for reply. Wasn't sure anyone would respond :-) I modified attachments a little bit. niresh_mavericks.jpg is the file we started with and now I added the outcome of my second boot USB with Yosemite which is yosemite.jpg.

Mavericks was created from .dmg file, Yosemite from Apple store download + clover bootloader.

I do not know why MacBookPro 8,1 - this comes as default from Niresh in my case. Clover + Yosemite gives me iMac 11,1. When I get into Clover menus it gives me correct values for my CPU model and frequecies as well as for RAM fand QPI settings. Averything seems right and I end up with the same error massage in both cases. At first I thoght something was wrong with appleACPIPlatform.kext version - hence Mavericks with earlier version of this kext, and yet the same kernel panic.

I have seen someone changing CPU 0 - CPU 7 for CPU 1 - CPU 8  in some .plist file. Could it help?

Perhaps this helps to nail down the issue.

Thanks

Piotr

Yeah, both on Mavericks and Yosemite - to no avail. Yet you made me realize that I pretty much neglected customizing my config.plist files and settled with the defaults. So I have to do some reading. Could you direct me to some good sources on EFI Shell 2.0 and preparing clover-genconfig file?

Grazie mille, saluti a tutti quanti :-)

You could use Clover Configurator, changing the settings in the kernel and kext patches section, or adding of flags in the boot section.

Your system is unusual, maybe it's something to change in bios
