anitanium
so i just got a new laptop and successfully got 10.4.6 running a problem i see is everytime it boots, i run into a "AppleIntelPIIXPATA: Secondary IDE Channel is disabled" during boot, and i can't get into OSX. when i use the -f switch, it seems to load everything just fine and audio seems to be an issue, it uses HD Realtek ALC260, which i've searched and found little support for it (unless the newer ALC8xx ones are compatible) i've tried modifying kexts with the vendor and device ID's, but no such luck any thoughts? it's an Acer Aspire 1641WLMI Intel Pentium M 80GB HDD (IDE/PATA) 512MB Realtek ALC260 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/30641-post-config-problems-audio-boot-issues/ Share on other sites

Shinaku
I've never been able to get my ALC260 working in OSx86... I think it's an uncommon chipset because theres been little to no response for any posts I've ever made about it.
